This hotplate press is suitable for laboratory testing to determine the resin flow of carbon fiber-epoxy prepreg tape or sheet material. The flow of the resin is determined based on the decrease in the weight of the prepreg sheet at the end of the pressing.

The steel plates, between which the pressing takes place, are superficially hardened and contain the electrical resistors for heating up to 300°C of temperature. Thermoregulation is PID controlled (proportional-integrative-derivative) with autotuning/selftuning and with continuous surveying temperature displays.

It has a digital pressure gauge that instantly displays the pressure exerted with a precision of 1/10 bar.
